Beware or Spend

Beware of the man who reappears when she calls time.

Spend your mornings in silence asking the sky for the way forward.

Beware of the one whose silence didn't make sense in years past, who in this moment of grief reaches for a hand to feel.

Spend your day toiling the earth,

Beware of the ego checking temperatures, friendship of a decade left on ice. Ready to be defrost in this moment of need.

Spend your months rebuilding the foundation of your garden, you let destroy, actions & consequence.

Beware of the man who’s hand reaches for yours after years of silence because he was not in control of the outcome you experienced.

Spend your years in the mud tending to the earth you’ve neglected

Beware the man whose excuse for poor behaviour was a heart manipulated

Spend your nights removing the mess from under your nails

Beware of the grand plans he inserts himself into when you ask for time to decide

Spend your breath where it still needs to heal

Beware of the silence that comes back when they rekindle moments later.

Spend your thoughts on things you can control

Beware of the man who was once the epitome if he wanted too he would.

Spend your attention elsewhere.
